K9 Hurricane’s Heroes, a federally recognized, non-profit organization, provides “retired law enforcement and military dogs” with subsidized veterinary care. Often these incredible dogs are the unsung heroes behind the operations put in place to keep us safe.

Typically when a working dog retires the cause is due to illness or injury, and all of the day-to-day care and medical bills become their Handler’s responsibility. To ensure these heroes live a long and happy retirement we want to remove the burden from the Handlers and let their job simply be to give their partners the best life possible. After years of service, these “working dogs” deserve to have long and enjoyable retirements, as just “dogs”. Hurricane’s Heroes is a fully volunteer based organization.

Since our launch in August 2020, K9HH has sponsored 129 retired working dogs through the @pawsofhonor Veterinary Care Program from USSS, TSA, Customs & Border Patrol, Local PD, State Police, Capitol Police, DOD, DIA, DOS, CIA, NGA, Army, Navy, Marines & Air Force.
